Document Editor

Want to Edit Documents Without an Account?

Edit Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint (PPTX) and CSV files without signing up for anything. There is no account, no login and no email to hand over — you open the editor and start typing.

No registration wall stands between you and your document. Everything runs locally in your browser with WebAssembly, so there is no account to create because there is no server storing your files in the first place. You open a file, edit it, and download it again — that is the whole flow.

It is a full editor, not a stripped-down preview: powered by the OnlyOffice engine, your fonts, tables, formulas and layout stay intact. And because your files never leave your device, skipping the account also means skipping the usual trade of your data for access.

What you can do

How it works

  1. Open the editor — no sign-up screen appears.
  2. Choose a DOCX, XLSX, PPTX or CSV file from your device.
  3. Edit it directly in your browser; the file is processed locally, not on a server.
  4. Download the finished file back to your device.
Open source & self-hostable. Under AGPL-3.0 — confirm for yourself that there is no account and nothing is uploaded, or run your own copy: github.com/ranuts/document.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit documents without creating an account?

Yes. There is no account, no sign-up and no login. You open the editor and can start editing your DOCX, XLSX, PPTX or CSV file right away.

Do I need to give an email address?

No. Because there is no registration step, you are never asked for an email address, a phone number or any personal details.

Where are my files saved if there is no account?

Your files stay on your own device. Editing happens locally in your browser with WebAssembly, and you download the result back to your computer — nothing is uploaded.

Is it free without an account?

Yes. It is free and open source under the AGPL-3.0 license, with no paywall and no account required to unlock features.

Can I use it offline without signing in?

Yes. It installs as a PWA and works fully offline once loaded, so there is never a sign-in wall between you and your documents.
